The Down Limbo Lane celebration is an art collaboration hosted by Echo & Sarah with website development by Annabelle, celebrating not only the 6th anniversary of the release of LimboLane's Smile For Me, but the inception of the game studio itself! Featuring just over 100 artists, this project was open to fanart inspired by ALL games developed by LimboLane studios, including Smile For Me (2019), Face Love (2020), and Great God Grove (2024)!
Last year, for our 5th anniversary project - as the Smile For Me fandom was moving on to broader horizons, the project was focused on more transformative works, and featured original characters and AUs. This year, given the influence Great God Grove has had on existing fans and newcomers alike, we wanted to open the project to fanart and crossover art once more, featuring all of LimboLane’s projects. Great God Grove was clearly the biggest undertaking they’ve worked on up until this point, with a debut release on console and everything, so we wanted this year’s project to reflect that scope and scale - this is the most art pieces we’ve ever hosted!
These games have inspired countless pieces of art, here and beyond - digital, traditional, craft and physical, animation, and more. They’ve helped forge friendships and communities, and driven creative expression in players, watchers and bystanders alike. These stories and characters have resonated with more people than can ever be captured on a single website, but we hope to provide a snapshot of the creativity inspired by this studio.
Thank you to the team at Limbolane for sharing your stories, worlds, characters, sounds and colors with us all, thank you to this incredible community, and thank you for visiting the Grove, Habitat, and Factory.
Enjoy this trip down Limbo Lane, and learn more about Great God Grove, Face Love, and Smile For Me here!
